The CBT

Our story

Arround the end of 2018, Annualite Uwayezu was overwhelmed by the rising of drug using youth, depressed youth and adults, suicide, gender based violence, and she shared the idea to a group of 9 people she new could help her do something to change those situations, so they decided to found an non government organisation that helps those who are already affected but especially focuses on children who are still making sense of the world to lead them in a good way to a better future. We are all committed to help build a country full of self sufficient, happy people.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

When you want to protect a child from childhood adversities, you better start with their family especially their mothers , and her community in general, that’s why CBT has chosen to work with parents, guardians (house girls/boys) and the community helping them know that a person’s behavior and personality depends on how he/she is grown up, CBT helps this group of people learn about childhood trauma and how it affects a child’s brain which makes sense of the work through what a child goes through when growing up. Most of the time childhood adversities in our society is from parents, guardians, community’s luck of knowledge about it.

Our services

CBT provides trainings to parents, guardians, community about trauma awareness in order to create a safe place for children to grow in. CBT also provides trainings for women in order to help them unlearn what has always been a way of life, which is silence and resilience in pain. We help women empower themselves to be self dependent. We create a space for them where they feel heard, seen, valuated by meeting them in mothers’ evening talks.

Our impact

We intend to help children have a happy and secured childhood to later become happy adults and solution givers, to happy parents who will raise happy children too. With that we are sure to have a happy population in the coming future.
